Testing your broadband speeds

Broadband speeds can vary considerably from property to property.

A simple broadband speed test can be performed at https://www.speedtest.net

This will display two sets of figures - download speeds and upload speeds.  These figures can be very useful when trying to troubleshoot problems with online services.

Sometimes, poor speeds can be a result of local problems such as a poor WiFi connection - try sitting closer to your broadband router and test again to see if the results improve.

Rebooting your router may also help.

If you're still experiencing poor results, you should contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
